    Conky -- Formatting Headaches

    Hi All,

I want to know what's up with conky's horrible formatting issues. I have a script that was PERFECT and took a lot of time to make perfect on my bodhi machine. A couple days ago I broke my bodhi boot so I had to clean install. I did the install and now my conky is showing up wrong again, really wrong. Everything is there but placement is terrible and it's going to take me probably a couple hours to make it right again. Furthermore, running the same script in Ubuntu has different results, and going even farther, running in in Gnome-Shell (Ubuntu 11.10) vs. Unity (Ubuntu 11.10) give me different results.

Yeah E17 can be a pain to get conky right in.

I am the 9th post down. Go back to the previous page to see how other members configured conky in E17.

Thanks for the reply but my problem isn't with E17, it's with conky settings not being consistent across DE's (Gnome, Unity, KDE, E17), same settings should result in the same formatting. Furthermore the same exact file shows differently after a clean install (not joking, not one change to my .conkyrc but now it's all screwed up despite three days ago it being perfect). I'll take a look at your post none the less
