    VT320 Terminal Emulation

    Hi,

I want to convert old Computers into terminals having VT320 emulation. These PCs will be used to connect to Unix / Linux Servers via Serial Port. These will be text based terminals and no gui (dumb terminal). These clients will boot in text mode & will have login prompt of server.

Please suggest suitable mini linux distro & s/w which can be used as VT320 terminals.

    Regards,

    Ravi Modi.

I guess just about any linux distribution would do. I am partial to Ubuntu. You might want to try the linux version of puTTY. The fellow in this article shows how to set puTTY up for VT320 emulation. Setup PuTTy for VT320 Emulation | AdminPost.com

    [EDIT]

If you are using really ancient computers that have low memory you may want to use Damn Small Linux for the operating system. DSL is optimized for small memory environments.
