Was playing with ipconfig and messed up my IP

I was playing around with ipconfig on my VPS and attempted to change my IP address just to see what would happen. The system froze so I exited out, and now I get

ssh: connect to host x.x.x.x port 22: Connection timed out

when I try to get to the original IP or the one I attempted to set it to.

Is there a way to get my IP back to the original IP, or reset what I've done?

Once that has happened, you usually have to go into the control panel of your VPS provider to fix it. It's kind of like working on a router or a firewall....if you're doing it remotely, be _very_ careful about changing things which could affect how you connect.
