two directories point to the same directory

    I notice in my computer,
    /local/home/esolve and
    /home/esolve
    point to the same directory
how is the mechanism behind this ?
    how can I detect this?
    thanks!

It could be two mounts of the same device to two different mountpounts or a bind mount.

In any case, the command "mount" should show some info.

Or it could just be a symbolic link - like a Windows shortcut.

as hazel said it might be symbolic link,
you can find out by typing the command
    ls -al

    it will be something like
    lrwxrwxrwx /home/esolve

    l represents the link

just google it what symbolic links are
