    There is something I am wondering actually. When you write key xxxxxxxxx, you actually write the word 'key', correct? (Followed by the pass of course). Because it keeps telling me that my pass is an 'invalid argument' (???)

    As for what I have, it's a laptop. I do believe it has a wireless button (not sure). It looks like a satellite dish. I know for a fact that my wireless works with Windows on the laptop itself. As for my key thing, it's a WPA2-PSK (AE).

    Concerning what you were asking about the 50-75 and the wireless coding... I have no clue if any of it is wireless, so I copied more than 75 lines of codes... just in case. I would very much like to know if any of it has anything to with the wireless aspect you were asking about:

    If not, then clearly there is something I'm doing wrong lol.




    Ah dammit...

    With this in mind it's crucially important to point out that iwconfig does not support WPA/WPA2 negotiation & authentication when connecting to a wlan network. That is to say the only wifi networks you can connect to with iwconfig are open unencrypted networks and WEP enabled networks.
    So I need to use this thing here:

    Yes, you have that correct regarding the key.
    Those messages are all related to wifi, well 99% of them anyways. If you can get the machine temporarily hooked up to Ethernet this would be a lot easier. I think you should install Wpa_supplicant and WICD. Hard to go wrong with those tools.

    Great! Sounds like I could use WICD Err... how do I use WICD? I downloaded the tar.bz2 file from the site, but that's about it. There seems to be only 24 questions on their faq, none about installing it. I have no understanding of linux lol. Taking baby steps at the moment ahah.

    You may be able to install WICD via your package manager.
    Since Matriux is Debian based, I'm hoping that they're using apt.
    Open a terminal, and try the following command:

    Use sudo or su - as needed.
