sharing server for a network
greeting every one
I am very new in linux
actually I have 1 Question I wanne ask hope any one can help me out
I have network and I want to make a sharing server with ( I don't know how to say it ) a web interface so network members can enter this server throw the web like any download web on the internet
so I can add files and they can download it (from the web)
what distro do I need to install *simple one*
what do I need hardware or applications

Hello,
Any distro will work for your request. You'll just have to install a webserver or an FTP server. (your choice)
Distro: Try CentOS
Servers: Apache (webserver); pure-ftp (FTP server)
Hardware: Any hardware will do as long as it can run the distribution.
There are a lot more servers you can use I just pointed out two.
