run gui programs for terminal
Hi all,
I really love this no gui thing.. or stating to would be more correct..
is it possible to have a linux distro start with only terminal and then from there open gui programs like firefox, skype, libre office etc??

You would at least need an X server running and probably some kind of Window Manager. I'm not sure what attracts you to the GUIless environment but the ratpoison window manager may be of some interest.

There are some people who like to work mainly from the console and just run startx when they need a gui. But I don't think you can launch graphical applications without launching the X-server first.
