Not entirely sure this will work but you could try opening the command line and typing in sudo apt-get install java.

    Code:
    sudo apt-get install default-jdk
or if you set up a root password when installing

    Code:
    su
    apt-get install default-jdk

    Code:
    root@raspberrypi:~# apt-get install default-jdk
E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem.

This is not directly related to the java installation, but some inconsistency of your package system.
    Follow the hint.

Easy enough, just download a .bin from the java.com/en/ site and open your command prompt terminal
cd into the directory with the downloaded JRE in the directory you want to install to
then commit the shell command ousing the name of the .bin or .bin.sh installer of the JRE.
