got yum to work-now have rpm s but install failed :-(

Copied the below from the term window. Looks like everything downloaded for updates but install failed due to no public gpc key? Did something with key prior to starting all this that made it finally download packages.... Is there a command line way to install all of the packages at once? (I gave up on that up2date thing....) Not sure how to interpret these results. Maybe it updated everything it needed to? Any help appreciated... Also sorry to paste the whole term screen... like I say not sure yet whats needed and what isnt...

Also tried running one in the /var/cache/yum/updates-released/packages folder - it did run - prior to this I tried the # rpm -iv *.rpm command and got - error: File not found by glob: *.rpm
So now I'm really confused. For now I will just go thru them all one at a tiime utill all updated. Looks also like the rpm is removed ater it runs too which is handy...

Give Apt/Synaptic a try.
It's easier, faster(not written in python) and has more functions.
It also has a very nice and easy to use GUI(Synaptic).
(...I never liked yum...)

PS: As for those warnings, you either need to install all GPG keys from all your repos or disable the line in yum.conf that asks for them.

Installing Apt is very easy.
In your terminal type:

wget http://dag.wieers.com/packages/apt/apt-0.5.15cnc6-4.1.fc3.rf.i386.rpm

Next do(from now as root):

rpm -Uvh apt-0.5.15cnc6-4.1.fc3.rf.i386.rpm

Next we'll update it's sources list and upgrade your system:

apt-get update

apt-get dist-upgrade

As for Synaptic:

apt-get install synaptic

Open Synaptic from your menu or type synaptic in a console.

Thanks again Jens! got apt and Synaptic up and running, and now everything is updated. I jumped into the Fedora 3 OS initially, but now I'm looking at other distros to see what will work best for me. I was reading something about fc3 not wanting to make other programs from other distros work with fc3. Starting to sound like Microsoft... which is why I fianlly bailed from the WinXP environment. Also was not too fond of their licensing policy... Where you have to call them up to get a new ID number whenever you install the OS more than twice.
