Kppp problem-pls hep <newbie question>
Hi!
When I click on kppp, it keeps asking me for my root password. I right clicked on the kppp icon and went into properties/permissions. The user has read, write and exec permissions. But kppp still asks for my root passwd. Any ideas pls? I'm using Redhat 8.0 and kde.
Thanks in advance

it needs to keep asking for your root password because it accesses a raw device (your modem) and only the administrator should be able to do that. It keeps other people that might have access to your computer from running bad code/screwing with your system.
