NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX DDR Drivers

I have a NVIDIA GeForce 2 MX DDR, I want to download drivers for it, when I go to http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux.html there are multiply drivers that I cant download I don't know wich one I have to download, how can I find this out? (I'm using Debian).

List of drivers I can choose:
Graphics Drivers:
- Linux IA32
- Linux IA64
- Linux AMD64
- FreeBSD

nForce Drivers:
- Linux IA32 Drivers
- Linux AMD64 Drivers

assuming it's a 32-bit system like mine, select the IA32 driver.

If you have a 64-bit system choose the relevant 64-bit driver:

IA64 for Intel-64
AMD64 for AMD64 CPU's.

There's a good readme on the NVidia site as dto how to install them, but if u need to know how, pm me.

I have some porblems installing the drivers, when I exit the Xserver, and type: sh NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run
It asks if I accept the license, after I accepted it it says: No precompiled kernel interface was found to match you kernel. And if I want to download a kernel interface from the nvidia ftp site.. When I saw yes.. it says: No matching precompiled kernel was found on the nvidia ftp site... And then it says that i have to be sure that I installed the kernel source files. And after that the installation closes... Can anybode tell me what to do?

what disrtibution are you using?

There should be (on the CD's) a package called kernel-source that you can install. You will need to do this, and once that's done, it should work for you.

Just remember before installing the module to go to run-level 3 (init 3)

I'm using Debian, I can also use "dpkg -i kernel-source" to install it and I can use init 3 to go runlevel 3...

I only have CD1, so dont know if I can find kernel-source on it?

does Debian have some sort of online package installation feature like Gentoo's emerge? That would do the trick for you aswell

Well.. I downloaded kernel-source-2.4.19 (if im not mistaking), after that I try'd to install it again, but it still says the same..

You need the kernel source to the exact version of the debian Linux kernel you are using, and I'm VERY sure that's not 2.19, as that would mean you're using a VERY VERY development stage kernel. Stable kernels always have an even minor version, and the current kernel series is 2.6.x, making 2.19 very old.
If you recompile/compiled the kernel, the source will be there anyways. And next time, say "no" to download from FTP site, as it's very unlikely it'll be there.

Finally, just like on windows, nvidia's drivers work for all their video cards, you just need the right one for your OS and processor type. Which, unless your using an AMD 64 CPU, is most likely IA32 under the Linux driver section.

I checked if I typed it right, I meant 2.4.19, thats the version I got.. Its the newest version I can download... I used apt-get install kernel-source-2.4.19 and it sayd I had the newest version...
