    Using a USB mouse with the terminal and X-Windows


    I can use my USB mouse with X-windows but not the terminal.

    How do I set it up so I can.

    The subject line and the post contradict each other. Which is it that you really want? And, more importantly, why don't you just want to use it for both?

    yes it works in the x-window system but the terminal doesnt recognize tht it even exists

    I believe gpm uses /dev/mouse as its standard mouse input device, so if you symlink it to point at /dev/input/mice instead, it should work.
