resolution problems
so i installed redhat 9 with ximian desktop on my thinkpda x30, and i can only get one fixed screen resolution...i cant make it 1024x768, which it does support. i have tried using the GUI to set resolution and i have also tried by editing XF86Config ... neither worked. any thoughts?

edit XF86Config again?
on the lines in XF86Config where you provide the list of screen resolutions, you will need to remove ALL other resolutions for each pixel depth apart from "1024x768", then try restarting X.

or, if you've got a Gnome desktop in front of you, try using the Screen utility in , I think, system tools. It ends up doing the same thing as Jaguar has suggested.
