Enabling Sound on an IBM 600E thinkpad using RedHat 9

I just installed RedHat 9 Linux on my IBM thinkpad 600E. It will not recognize the sound card, so I can do nothing with the sound.

Is there a way of getting the card recognized and configured to work on this machine with Linux?

Any instructions/tutorials for this version would be greatly appreciated!

Have you looked heavily into IBM and Redhats web site support? If you just bought RH 9 you may still have some limited tech support left on it for free. If so, use it.
