I p[ersonally found SuSE REALLY easy to setup with apache/php/mysql.... just install the packages thru yast, it does what's necesary to link the 3, then just set the mysql root password, and everything's done

You might want to consider Debian (Ubuntu is based on Debian).

best place to find the answer to this is www.distrowatch.com read up about the different distros there! Linux is really about choice, and this way you can make an educated one.

Do as qub333 said. On distrowatch you can find some distros that are built for servers.

I'm with Boba_fett. Debian is a bit more complex, though easier than others in it's class, and you already have some experience with it by using Ubuntu. Plus if you stick with Debian stable (currently Woody, soon Sarge) you'll have the most stable and secure distribution out there. It's a little aged, but that shouldn't be a big deal with a server.

I have heard of people said that SUSE with filesystem of XFS would provide awesome services. I haven't yet tried it but you might.
