    There's lots of problems with AC97 sound (IME). Google will give you loads of hits to try, but no definitive "do this and it WILL work" ones, alas. I've been struggling for ages to get my onboard audio working in FC2 and FC3, without success.

    well that's not good news i don't have the know how to work with a lot of this stuff so if i have to go with out using my sound card then that's what i guess i will have to do
    i had problems with my other sound card too with a prior release, i could never get it to work.
