Boot up hangs when initializing hardware
I have set up Fedora Core 3 (2.6.9-1.667) on a Toshiba Tecra 8100 for testing purposes.
Set up went well. At least there were no errors.
Once set up was completed I was prompted to remove any media and reboot the computer. I did so and the system hangs at:
Initializing hardware... storage [1-2 second pause] network [1-2 second pause] audio [the cursor blinks] and nothing else happens. This leads me to believe that the sound card drivers are hanging up the start up process.
Can I disable/suspend the loading of the sound card drivers during startup? They will not be needed for my tests.
FWIW, I am testing a segmentation fault that is caused when a specific application is loaded.
Thanks in advance for your responce.
