    Xsession erros

    Hi,

    I installed enlightenment windows manager on my comp (Ubuntu), but it wasn't for me so i unistalled it. Now I can only login using the default failsafe gnome option as my .xsession has be screwed up by the unstall.

    Where is the default failsafe gnome xsession file, can i just copy it to so i can login normally?

    Alrighty...

    What WM are you trying to get into? Or are you trying to boot into the terminal?

    Also, please post the line of /etc/rc.conf that begins with:

    Code:
    DISPLAYMANAGER
    For example, mine is commented out, but yours may be

    Code:
    DISPLAYMANAGER="kdm"
    DISPLAYMANAGER="gdm"
    DISPLAYMANAGER="xdm"
    Or anything like that.

    Ok thanks for your help but when trying to fix the problem myself i think i have made the situation worse. I changed some things in synaptic , the problem is i can't remeber what

    When i boot i get a blue screen that says "I cannot start the xsever.." /etc/X11/X is not executable then i am ltaken back to the console

    I have tried to use pat-get and aptitude to reinstal xserver-xorg but it does not fix the error. What can i do?
