If you boot with the suse cd/dvd, it has a great partitioning tool that will resize NTFS without damaging it.
And by default, SUSE will set you up with a dual boot.
After you get through all of the language selection and stuff, you will get to a page that tells what SUSE will do.
Automatic detection of hardware, partitioning. Just make sure that it says "resizing NTFS to xxx".
and you will be on your way.
