    Gnome isn't necessarily better, just different. You wouldn't have to uninstall KDE to give Gnome a try; the two desktop environments can happily coexist.

    well I have MNF2
    I cant install GUI
    when I type apt - get install x11
    apt : command not find

    type it as a word like 'apt-get'

    Are you using Debian or any Debian-based distros like Ubuntu? To use apt you need Debian or something like it (apt also work on other distros but finding a good repositorie is very hard)

    Tell us which distro are you using
    I guess MNF2 is something like Mandriva
    Maybe Kojak can help you with Mandriva
