    Sorry, I thought I had posted a reply earlier.

    In that time I was successful with proftpd on transferring files from my linux computer to a networked NTFS system. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll check out Samba and see what it has to offer.

    smbclient host -U username%pwd will do the samba connection to XP
