Here are instructions for using the source (the .tar.gz file):

    - Download the file
    - Run the following commands:

    Code:
    cd /path/to/downloaded/file
    tar xvfz captive-static-1.1.5.tar.gz
cd captive-static <-- It may have a different name, but it should be something like this
    ./configure
    make
    su
    << Enter root Password >>
    make install
That will install it from source. I've never used it, so I have no comment on how it works.

    Thanks for posting on
    how to install it. Although
being the newbie that I am
I can not get passed the third step.
I typed the whole file name in agian with out the
end extentsion. Thinking that might be how to get
    it to work.

I appreciate the code that you sent to me.
It gives me a base to do other installations
    from.

THanks for all the input you guys have given.

If I can not get this peice of software to work
I will end up formatting the drive.
