    X not only as root.

I have created a new user for myself ("what doesn't have to be done as root shouldn't be done as root") but I have found out that I have lost the ability to run X. How can I allow my user account run X? (xfce4 with Xorg)

If you type startx does x start? If so you just need to change the default runlevel for your new logon.
    Code:
    vi /etc/inittab
The line you need to change should look like id:3:initdefault:. All you have to do is change the 3 to a 5 and save. Next time you log in you will be in x.
