Konsole is a KDE application, so unless you have KDE installed, it won't come up. Gnome has a console app called gterm and most distributions also come with non-desktop-specific consoles such as xterm or aterm. Any of those should run from your "Run Application..." dialog.

I'm not sure if you'll have konsole in a Gnome Based system, but you should have (if you look through the menus) Gnome Terminal, or xterm, aterm, eterm.

Thank you. Is all the commands the same in those consoles, like xterm?

Is there "apt-get install x" and "./filename" and "cd" and you get it?

Yes all the commands will be the same, since they are just a diferent interface for the same shell (bash usually)
