i think ive already installed the gcc compiler but when i go to usr/local/src couldnt find me package, how do i find if i really installed it? im doing it ...

    i think ive already installed the gcc compiler but when i go to usr/local/src couldnt find me package, how do i find if i really installed it? im doing it on my own with na little help from u my friends

    just enter into a terminal:
    Code:
    which gcc
    and it will tell you where it is installed, usually /usr/local/bin/gcc

    thank you found it, its in usr/bin/gcc ...do i need to move it to usr/local/bin/gcc?

    no, there is no need to move it. As long as the command works and the system can find it, then all is fine.

    Different distros seem to store it in different places, but as long as system can find it, it should be fine.
