win2k professional client authentication on linux
hi...
is there any way out where win2k professional client can authenticate on linux server....(using ldap ?)
my existing setup uses win2k advance server with active directory services for win2k professional clients authentication ( and i suppose active directory works on ldap protocol)
my motive is to migrate user roaming profile and other features to linux server from win2k active directory ......
is it possible ????????
thanks for any help in advance

check out samba, that is probably your best bet. Windows doesn't like to interface with LDAP. You can reverse engineer the windows login process (not as super-hard as it sounds) to do it, but I haven't had the time or the real motivation.

3.0 does and. I had it working since october and though its it alpha relase, most of the work is done with it. I havent had a stability issue yet and it was a pdc for about 40 computers.

You can use ldap with samba though I heard that samba-tng is more advanced then samba for use with ldap. So you might want to try out samba-tng, might be a better solution then samba.
