    This link might be helpful: it's Red Hat 9, but that's pretty much Fedora. The book "Linux for Dummies" is centered on Fedora but it also touches on other popular distros. It's not very deep, but then Fedora is one of the easiest installing distros available if you are just getting started. This forum is probably your best resource.

    well i found this site - fedorafaq.org
    its helped untill i got to the nvidia driver

    it says to

    yum install nvidia-glx kernel-module-nvidia-$(uname -r)

    and i get

    I'm afraid this thread might not be seen by someone who can help. I'd suggest you post that message in a new thread in Peripherals and Hardware with a suitable subject: maybe "Yum install of nvidia driver failed". And you might want to search the forums for related threads.

    Thanks to you guys that helped. I finally got it fixed, i updated the kernel and it worked then.
