You do not mount audio cd's
.
Does the sound work elsewhere?

Is the CD volume control unmuted?
Also, can you play any other sound in another program?

For fsck's sakes, put your THs togetehr!!! It's bloody annoying to read through stuff and find a vowel in between every T and H. Teh, taht, teh, taht.. The only thing unlike this in your posts is 'lenght,' in which you reversed the order of the TH. Dude, please take the time to type correctly! There's a button called "Preview" right next to the "Submit" one, just for this kind of thing. Make use of it!

maibe it's a hardware problem. You have the cable witch connect the sound card and the cdrom? I had a similar problem with audio cd's. I put this god damn cable and everything worked.
I don't know. Just try it! It may work. Else ... sorry for taking your time.
