    configuring my dsl in fedora core 3 ...


    can someone help me on how to configure my dsl, im using realtek RTL 8139/810x family fast ethernet lan card and i dunno how to connect it in my dsl modem w/c is zykel prestige 600 series,please help me,..

    Hello
    First look if u got u card:
    Code:
    ifconfig -a
    should show u all the interfaces available on ur computer.
    If u got eth0 then ur card might be detected (great uh) if not load the rt8139 module (and make a search i heard about that on that forum soon...)
    Normally u should have eth0 by default.
    Then if u connect yourself thx to ethernet u've got 2 choices:
    • If ur modem is a router then a simple dhclient eth0 should work
    • If ur modem is not a router then u've got to configure pppoe either by using adsl-setup or (in graphical mode here) pppoeconf

    If u use an usb mode (that's crap!) then we need more details

    tnx for the help anyways, i do configure it already using pppoe and get a module of my lan card. lolz!

    So where is the problem? U should be connected so far. U fulfilled ur resolv.conf with the right values? Indeed try to connect then past here the results of

    Without error messages or sth else it's quite difficult to help u...
