Hello I am very young Microsoft computer programmer Age 12-18 and I was wondering what version of Linux would you use if you wanted to be a network analyst. The reason for the change from Microsoft is because I want change and I want to be invovled with the movement of Linux.

If you want to learn go get Slackware or Debian.

only if you know what you're doing of course...
as a first distro i suggest using debian
after that i suggest slackware or gentoo
i went from debian to slackware (for 2 weeks) to gentoo and im loving gentoo
you learn a lot with gentoo
i am currently working on Linux From Scratch as well, which teaches you even more.

I don't think you learn much using Gentoo.. it's very different from ALL the other distros..
You learn to use Gentoo
