    newbie mouse problem (debian)

Hi i have recently installed debian sarge 3.1 and the mouse is acting very strangly in gnome.

what happens is that i have to hold down the click for a few seconds before it clicks, and whenever i am in a window that can scroll up and down, it scrolls somewhat randomly whenever i move the mouse. its extreemly annoying and i am having trouble doing the simplest things.

do people know the mouse configuration file or a way i can re-select my mouse type (i think i selected wrong during installation but i am not sure).

or any way to fix this problem?

The file to configure your keyboard, mouse, monitor and display card is /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.

You could try posting that file here ( or just the mouse section ) along with the type of mouse you have, and somebody will most likely be able to help you.

    good luck.

I found the file and i found that the input for the mouse was set to "netscrollPS/2" this shouldnt be. I simply changed it to "PS/2" and it is now fixed.

    Thanks for your help guys.
