    slackpkg for vector

Is there a tool like this for vector? I dont mean something vaguely similiar, I mean quite similiar. Can you use slackpkg in vector if not? The reason im not using slackware is because last time I did I couldnt get 2.6 kernel compiled for multiple processors. How can I make sure vector is using both processors or would it even work in slackware without having to recompile the 2.6 kernel? I always have so much trouble compiling the kernel. *sigh*

Vector has VLAPT for package management.
    It is pretty good.
