I have recently installed Linux (Mandriva) for the first time, so now I have three different places I can send email from, and would love to get my address book all in one place.

I think LDAP could be the answer.

Is this the right solution, and if so, how do I use it? I have done a

whereis ldap

on my hoster's system, and it seems to be installed - is there a convention for how to address it from your mail client? If not, is there maybe a "public" LDAP server I could use?
