newie apt-get question

hey guys i was wondering how you add an internet source to apt-get so when i type
apt-get install pakage
it will acess the site and download and install + dependencies.

Also do you know of some good internet sources?

If you want sources, the first step is naming the distro (ubuntu, debian stable/sarge, debian testing/etch, an RPM based distro etc.).

For ubuntu, you should check the ubuntuguide site (the latest ubuntu is http://ubuntuguide.squarecows.com/doku.php )

For debian, maybe check out http://www.apt-get.org/ they have a huge list
