hi guyz

i am planning on deplying an RMI based java server on ubuntu based linux machine, and i'll be deplying it as a linux service. right now my java env. variables are set in my user's .bashrc. which obviously will not be read when the service is launched by the os. i ve read in couple articles to put system wide variables in /etc/profile, /etc/enivronment and so many other config files and i am confused. i would appreciate if anyone could help out in setting system wide env. variables that can be read by the linux service.
