    Epson 1660 Scanner


    Anyone have good/bad words to say about this
    scanner? Scanning for web-based documents,
    maybe from an occasional 35mm negative, too.
    1600 dpi is more than I need, but I am not able
    to find any "samples" scans online for review.

    I previously had a Umax Astra 2200 and it had
    a habit of scanning on the dark side, but did not
    scan too bad overall (good enough for me).

    if you are going to scan negatives then you will need a scanner with a light hood, but for that sort of work (provided your not a pro photographer) 1600dpi should be fine.
