    Printing

I just loaded in SuSe Pro 8.2 last week. Everything was going as advertised. I set up my internet connection with no problems. I set up my HP712C printer with no problems (I downloaded the HP 712C file). The test page worked fine for both text and graphic. I started to feel I was no longer a moron when it comes to Linux. Then I tried to print from Konqueror. The application crashed. The KDE crash handler said "The application Konqueror crashed and caused the signal 11 (SIGSEGV). I then tried to print from OpenOffice.org writer. It printed with no problems. It seems everything associated with the KDE fails to print. Did I forget to check a box somewhere? Here is a list of my hardware that would pertain to this problem:

    Printer- HP712C
    Netgear router
    Hawkings Parallel Print Server

I don't use KDE, so I can't explicitly help you solve the problem. I just wanted to say that everything that is a SIGSEGV is a program bug no matter how you look at it. Therefore, even if indeed you have made a configuration error somewhere, it still shouldn't behave like that.
