    Terminal

Hello, I am fairly new Linux and had a question about the terminal.
I want to use the terminal more, maybe even all the time.
I was wondering if there is a way see what KDE and Gnome are
doing in the background, like the commands and stuff. I thought that
would be the best way to learn it well if I could see what commands are being used by KDE and Gnome.

    Thanks.

If you mean for example starting separate (graphical and text) programs you can just type the command (program name) to prompt. You can see some open programs with command "ps aux". AFAIK straight commanding KDE or Gnome from terminal is not possible.
