    Help! Grub problem

Hi, I'm trying to boot off a CD but grub keeps getting in the way. Even when I tell my bios not to boot from a hard disk, grub comes up. If I physicall disconnect the hard disks, grub gives an error. Does anybody have any idea what's going on?

I am not quite sure how that would happen as grub is installed on the hard disk.
What are you trying to boot? What error does grub give?
