I need some help with windows/linux

Ok here is the situation. Today i had a very malicious attack by many (about 8.) trojans at once. Yeah i know i executed some .exe i thought to be something it wasn't. Anyway long story short, i reformatted my Windows hard drive. Now see i have seperate hds, so i just have linux on my other one. Now when i go to boot, it doesn't bring up the boot screen anymore and i backed some files up in my linux hd. How can i get that boot menu back to log into linux again? I am using Mandrake 9.2. Also it is possible to view linux partitions from windows?

Edit: It's also windows XP pro.

When you install Widnows, it writes its own bootloader on the master boot record. It overwrites LILO or GRUB completely. I'm not sure about getting it back on there (im sure its possible somehow) but you can slap in your Mandrake CD and choose F1 (i beleieve it is) for more options and boot to linux or you can use a boot floppy.
If you love something, emerge it

Check out the "Linux Tutorials, HOWTO's, Reference Material & Linux Reviews" at the top of the forums.

This one in particular might be of interest to you
