    Well, sshd is running on my system, but I cant seem to log on using putty or webmin's ssh terminal. Webmin prompts me for a password then promptly disconects me when I supply it, and putty just sits there for a min then quits. Is there something Im missing? The man pages didnt realy give me much. I guess I could create a key set but, I dont know how to create a windows key pair.

    Can you log into the service from the same Linux machine using the loopback IP 127.0.0.1? So do something like:
    Code:
    $ ssh -l user 127.0.0.1
    If that doesn't work, then try using the debugging mode. First, stop the sshd that's running by sending a SIGTERM and then restart it with the "-d" option. Open another terminal window and then try logging in again, this time, you'll see a lot more messages generated.
