    Mp3 and Mpeg Playing Problem


    hi..guys,
    i m using redhat 9.0 and installed the workstation from the setup.sound card is configured properly and i m able to play audio cd's.but when it comes to mp3's ..its not playing.i m usin xmms player.tell me which is the best application to play mp3 and videos(*.dat files) in linux.tell me which is the best player i can find online.where can i find the stuff in the internet.is there any player that comes within the redhat installation cd's.thanx...

    rh doesn't ship with mp3 support in xmms. All you need to do is download and install the xmms-mp3 rpm. You can find it on rpmfind or google

    Mplayer is a real easy to install video player and audio player

    Xine is good to but its harder to install
