    need to isntall gcc and dependencies on centOS


    Hello guys, if I'm posting in the wrong place please direct me thanks.
    Just installed centOS 4.3 server and I need to insatall the gcc and it's dependencies. Can someone direct me on how to do this. I'm in centOS command line. What do I do from there. Remember, extreamly Newbie.

    Just use yum to install the thingies.
    Do:

    yum install gcc

    Thank you Seņor Juan Pablo.

    I did not know I had to update after a fresh install.

    From the command line I ran "yum -y update" as sugested by a friend
    and that did the trick. Learning little by little.

    If you're going to compile from source you'll also want to have kernel-devel installed...
