    error i don't understand

    i get this as i am trying to load my printer

    Looks like you're trying to load a new driver for a printer? If so, then you have to do this as root -- that's what it means when it says that you don't have the required permissions.

    Log in as root and try again.

    when i click on "administrator mode" the list of printers comes up blank

    so i can't select it in the list to open up????

    is there something else i can do?

    yeah but the list of printers doesn't pull up then.... it is like it isn't there anymore

    You mean the list of possible printer choices (manufacturer, model, etc.) is blank when you do this as root?

    yes completely blank

    says this while trying to load

    Internal error: unable to locate the driver.
