Spreading the word
I installed Linux on my Win 98 desktop in June and my Win ME laptop last month. I've been reading up on Linux and learning steadily - I like it.
I'll have to put Linux on the wife's Win Me laptop soon.
So far I've had three people at work asking about Linux and seeming to be genuinely interested.
My father is getting fed up trying to keep his desktop and laptop running on Windows with all the adware/spyware and instability. So I'm going to have him try Linux to see if he likes it.
I ordered a variety of 'light' distributions like Feather, BeatrIX and Feather to try out since his desktop is a little old and slow. I think I'll use openSUSE or Ubuntu 6.06 on the laptop, the Ubuntu live CD ran fine on the laptop before.
He also has an old 486 laptop. Maybe Puppy would work on that.
It seems to me more people are considering Linux.

Glad to hear it. When someone is asking about Linux they are much more likely to enjoy the experience. Hopefully hardware and software vendors will pay attention as more mainstream users start using Linux and support us more readily.
