    Dual Booting XP and Ubuntu?

    Hi people, I'm a new poster on this forum (you'd never guess).

    I've decided to dual boot XP and Ubuntu, but I keep running into a few problems.

    I've got XP installed and have installed Ubuntu from the alternate install disk. Ubuntu installed great, and it set up Lilo as the boot loader, (when I used the Live CD to install ubuntu it set up Grub, which rather than give me a choice beteween OS's, didn't even seem to load).

    The problem is Ubuntu boots up fine but Lilo doesn't give me an option of which OS to boot into it just loads Ubuntu.

    I'm guessing that I must be choosing a wrong option when it comes to the boot loader setup part of the ubuntu installation but I'm not sure where I'm going wrong?

    My hard drives are set up thus;

    HD1 Partition 1 - XP
    HD1 Partition 2 - Linux Swap
    HD1 Partition 3 - / ext3 (Root I guess)

    HD2 - Misc backup and Media

    I've got a Ghost back up of my XP Partition, so I guess I can start again if needs be, but I'd like to know if there's something I can modify in ubuntu to get me dual booting.

    Cheers guys/girls.

    Cheers, I'd tried editing Lilo.conf from a guide I'd seen, but it didn't mention the last part, lilo -v

    I'll give it a try when I get home tonight.

    Thanks.
