    Graphical Web Browsers all fail?

I have installed Ubuntu, Red Hat, Xandros and even Suse all on two different machines. All of the graphical browsers start to open, minimize to taskbar and then disappear. Firefox and other programs as well.

What is happening? Is there some configuration that needs to happen before using linux?

Have you tried running them from the terminal and seeing if error messages come up?
Flies of a particular kind, i.e. time-flies, are fond of an arrow.

Ok I am currently in XandROS.

I went to terminal and went into Firefox directory and typed
    firefox and also firefox -safe-mode

I am getting the following either way "segmentation fault"

Where do I go from here?
