    new linux xp desktop 2006

    i'm a noob too linux,thats just to begin with,but i was informed that linux xp desktop 2006 would be the best for me to start with& i thought i understood how to install it.i'm attemtping to install it on a hp with a 766 celeron processor ,512 mg's or ram & a 10 gig hard drive.i put the disk in it boot up,the too a screen it says too press enter too run disk,it goes too a screen that says pc linux os,then alot (a whole lot) of text then i see check time reached ,then setting up UNIONFS,the theres 7 lines after it ending with no such file or directory ,then it quit .& i missing a step in setting it up?

    the theres 7 lines after it ending with no such file or directory
    post error messages here. we can suggest after checking error message only.
