When I hit the 'Quit' button that's supposed to bring up a message asking me if I want to Log Out, Reboot, Shut Down, etc... it just instantly logs me ...

Strange 'Quit' behavior in GNOME
When I hit the 'Quit' button that's supposed to bring up a message asking me if I want to Log Out, Reboot, Shut Down, etc... it just instantly logs me out. Nothing pops up at all. Any help on fixing it?
distro = ubuntu 6.10Live in the sunshine, swim the sea, drink the wild air...
