Noob question
ok i know this is a noob question but oh well.ok i have it burned to a cd and im possitive it works because i tryed it on 2 of my friends computer a desktop and a laptop. on the laptop it booted up automatically and on the desktop we pressed F12 the chose to boot up from a cd and it ran.but when i try those things on my computer it boots up windows automaticly. so what do i change and where to make the knoppix cd boot up first. oh and im running windows xp home edition sp2 if that matters

You know when you first boot it says something like, "...to enter setup, press F2" or something similar? Whatever it says, follow those directions to enter your BIOS and set CDROM to boot first before either Floppy or Hard drive. It will be under "Boot order" or something like that...

Is your CDROM working OK? That's all I can think of. If you set CDROM to boot before Hard Drive, and there is a Live CD of Knoppix in the CDROM, there is no other reason for it NOT to boot Knoppix, (that I can think of provided this same disk is booting properly with other computers).

Ok, here's how my laptop works.
Before your computer even shows the "press f12 to ...." I hold the f12, and when this words appear, I release f12 and then I can choose the boot options.
That's how my laptop works.
